Read these Frequently Asked Questions and sort out the basic issues most of our clients are asking.
You can email us should you feel you still need your specific questions answered.
How does this all work?
Subject to credit approval, we will supply you with an I-Jet system that provides your HP (compatible) inkjet printer with more than enough original ink to print all your office printing requirements (A4 + A3 sheets) pages per month. This is on a 2 year rental agreement with payments being debited to your account monthly. The I-Jet remains the property of BluePrint. You can upgrade your inkjet printer anytime you want. Obviously this is to an I-Jet compatible printer.
What are the initial costs?
You pay a once-off installation, administration and basic printer training fee of R195 plus your first months rental of R495 in advance. If your printer is compatible then you pay nothing else. If you don't have a compatible printer, you can select any of these printers and that is the totality of your initial outlay.
NOTE: All prices quoted EXCLUDE VAT and are based upon A4 printing.
What are my total monthly costs?
The amount differs from printer to printer, but the average cost for a standard A4 inkjet printer is R495 per month. Once the initial installation and testing has taken place your monthly payments are run as a debit order which amount will be withdrawn on the last day of the month.
Should you opt for the service plan, then an additional R85 applies.
All failed transactions will re-run 5 days later (and any incurred costs will be for the client account).
WHat if I am printing A3 pages?
In the case of the client having a printer that does both A4 and A3 printing, costs are calculated on the printing of the A3 pages and working on the premise that those wanting or needing A3 printing would do this on a more consistent basis.
It must be appreciated that the printing of A3 pages constitutes double the print area currently costed (at R495) that double the cost apply as twice the amount of ink will be used. Based on this we reserve the right to charge double the costs, as whatever your are currently (or would normally) be paying will no doubt be easily 2 - 3 times our costs.
However, having said that, an assessment will be done of the printing and the specific needs of each company in question. We are willing to undertake a trial phase to establish how many prints are being done to arrive at the most cost effective solution for your office.
What do you get for this monthly fee?
At this time your printer will be installed, tested, heads aligned and calibrated and if you are on a network this too will be set up so all workstations can print to your new printer.

What are the advantages of the continuous ink feeding system
- Print quality is always as good as a brand new cartridge. As the ink in a regular cartridge gets used the quality tends to decrease as small air bubbles can get drawn into the print head, temporarily affecting print quality and causing banding (this is when there are horizontal stripes across the page). This is why printers signal that the ink is out even though a lot remains in the cartridge. The lower the ink the lower the print quality. Our system keeps the cartridges filled to 98% capacity allowing for the optimum print quality.
- No wasted ink. Every time you throw away an old cartridge, you throw away almost half the ink that came in it. Typically the instruction from the printer to the computer that ink is low is similar to a petrol tank with "reserve". You still have some mileage in the tank but people tend to replace at this point thus wasting ink.
- Time savings. You can print big jobs continuously without having to reset the ink counter. Under normal operation when the ink out light comes on, it takes a few seconds to reset the counter. You don't have to run cleaning cycles or nozzle checks to make sure everything is working right after installing a new cartridge since you are using the same continuously feed cartridge that has not been removed from the printer.
- No messy refills. Never touch another cartridge or get ink all over your hands.
- You are finally free to print as much as you like without feeling guilty about the cost. Turn out multiple copies of A4 prints for cents (good sense - depending on paper cost of course).
What is NOT included in this deal?
BluePrint offers an office printing solution. This pertains to the ink supplied and the monthly cleaning of the printer to ensure no snags occur through the month. So, on the printer, the consumables such as print heads and other mechanical parts OTHER THAN ink cartridges are covered under your standard warrantee by the printer supplier.
Should you require a call out to service the printer on a date other than and in addition to your monthly scheduled service call out, then an additional fee of R175 applies.
